They look like two versions of the same product, but to an architect they are almost opposites. On the Palm you buy a villa already built on an artificial island; in Emirates Hills many buyers purchase a plot and have the house designed.<\/p><p>That is why the questions to ask change. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/topic\/Palm-Jumeirah\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Britannica<\/a> it has a trunk connected to the coast, 17 fronds and a crescent acting as a breakwater: about 17 km divided into three sections so that seawater can circulate. Work began in 2001, construction of the buildings in 2006, and the first residents arrived in 2007.<\/p><p>The villas line the fronds, one next to the other, each with its own stretch of beach.
