Descrizione
MD Home is a contemporary minimalist villa Verona designed by Federico Cappellina Architects for a private client in San Bonifacio, in the Veronese countryside. This approximately 280 sqm residence reinterprets luxury living through the principle of the harmony of contrasts: opposing materials in dialogue, volumes in tension, light as the primary element of architecture. A project born from a precise vision of living well, grounded in quality and proportion.
The concept of the harmony of contrasts defines every design decision. Natural stone facades meet glass surfaces that dissolve the threshold between interior and exterior. Dark woods resonate with pale marble floors. A chromatic palette of neutral tones amplifies the perception of calm and spatial continuity — a precise balance between opposing elements that attract, complement each other, and generate enduring beauty over time.
The main facade articulates a system of compact, controlled volumes. Premium materials mark the transition between public dimension and domestic space: the perimeter stone wall engages with large-format glazed openings that frame the surrounding landscape. The entrance is designed as a transition sequence — a threshold that gradually introduces the visitor to the interior, protecting the privacy of the living core without sacrificing the architectural character of the whole.
The material palette is built to endure and intensify over time. Natural stone, aged wood, exposed concrete, and burnished metal define an essential yet intense language. Each surface is chosen for its capacity to engage with natural light which, at different hours of the day, transforms the perception of the interior spaces. Every construction detail — from each threshold to each junction — is conceived with the same care devoted to the overall architectural composition.
Inside, the open-plan living area is the heart of the home: a proportionate, luminous environment conceived for conviviality and relaxation. Full-height glazing connects the living space directly to the private garden with pool. The neutral palette — stone, wood, linen — amplifies the sensation of stillness rooted in place. Selected design furnishings engage without competing with the architectural framework.
The kitchen, integrated into the living area around a bespoke central island, balances functionality with aesthetic rigour. The upper floor houses three bedrooms, each a private retreat with selected materials and dedicated architectural lighting. The three bathrooms in stone and metal — with flush-mounted bathtub and walk-in shower — are spaces of domestic wellness conceived with the same intensity as the communal areas.
Technology and home automation are integrated invisibly. Underfloor radiant heating, mechanical ventilation, concealed air conditioning, and smart lighting are designed to disappear into the architecture and serve comfort without visual imposition. Energy management is optimised through high-performance thermal insulation and solar shading integrated into the architectural design, ensuring wellbeing in every season.
This contemporary minimalist villa Verona was delivered with the full design services of Federico Cappellina Architects: architecture, interior design, and landscape design. The private garden with pool completes the composition, extending the logic of the interior spaces outward with full material and formal continuity.
