Custom sauna and luxury cold plunge for the villa
A custom sauna and a cold plunge designed together with the villa: position, ventilation, systems and materials decided on the plan. A line under development by the studio: for now a private waitlist.
Custom sauna: what it means
A custom sauna is not picked from a catalogue: it is designed together with the villa. Size, materials, the opening towards the garden, ventilation and systems are defined on the real space, so the cabin becomes part of the architecture instead of an object added later. The most common case is a sauna next to the master bathroom or the pool, with a shower nearby and a rest area.

What is decided in the design of a custom sauna
Before the model come the architectural choices. They are always the same, and each changes the result:
- Position: next to the bathroom or the pool, indoors or as a pavilion in the garden. An outdoor sauna needs a flat, stable base and a dedicated electrical line.
- Size: it starts from the number of people and the space to lie down. Cabins on the market range from about 90 × 90 cm for one person to about 2.3 × 2.5 m for three or four; a custom sauna adapts the plan to the room.
- Materials and light: woods suited to heat, glass towards the outside, warm linear light; stone or porcelain stoneware under the heater.
- Ventilation: for an electric heater about six air changes an hour are indicated; the air intake and outlet are drawn together with the walls.
- Electrical system: infrared cabins usually work on a household socket; heaters from 4.5 kW up need a dedicated line, and higher powers three-phase supply.
Sizes, powers and ventilation are those given by manufacturers in our Italian home sauna guide, with sources cited. The same rules apply to a custom sauna, but on the plan of your villa.
Luxury cold plunge in a villa: where it goes and what it needs
A cold plunge is a tub for cold-water immersion; in a villa it is a design element like the shower or the bathtub. A luxury cold plunge needs precise decisions, best taken before the works:
- Position: next to the sauna and the shower so the route is natural, indoors or on a terrace.
- Water and drain: a supply point and a drain, or a recirculation system, decided with the plumber.
- Chiller: many models use a cooling unit that needs a dedicated socket and a point for air.
- Floor and safety: waterproof, non-slip surfaces, a comfortable entry and a support to get in and out.
- Finishes: stone, steel, wood treated for water: materials that withstand humidity and stay beautiful.

A designer cold plunge tub comes in many shapes and sizes; dimensions, water volume and unit power depend on the model and are fixed with the manufacturer. We make no health promises: for any doubt about using a sauna or cold water, ask your doctor.
Sauna and cold plunge together: one space
Sauna, shower, cold plunge and rest area work best when they are conceived as a sequence: heat, water, pause. That is why we propose them together, in one area of the villa, with systems, ventilation and floors coordinated. It also avoids the typical defects of additions made to a finished house: humidity where it should not be, rooms that are too tight, electrical lines to redo.

How we work
- Plan and position: we find the point of the villa where the wellness area works best, new or existing.
- Technical scheme: ventilation, electrical system, water and drains, floors.
- Choice of manufacturers and installers: those that suit the project, compared on technical sheets.
- Site coordination: the studio follows the installation so finishes and systems stay coherent with the house.
Frequently asked questions about custom saunas and cold plunges
How much does a custom sauna cost?
We do not give prices: they depend on size, materials, heater and systems. A custom sauna is assessed on the project.
What is the difference between a custom and a prefabricated sauna?
A prefabricated sauna has standard sizes and is chosen from a catalogue. A custom sauna follows the plan of the room, the openings and the materials of the villa, and is coordinated with ventilation and systems from the design stage.
Where does a cold plunge go in a villa?
Best next to the sauna and the shower, in a room with a waterproof, non-slip floor, or on a terrace. It needs water, a drain and, for many models, a socket for the chiller.
Can it be done in an existing villa?
Yes, if there is a suitable room and the systems can be brought in. Height, ventilation, floor and available power are checked; in a new build it is simpler because everything is planned from the start.
Can I already buy it?
No. It is under development and not on sale: you can join the private waitlist, with no payment and no obligation.
